Rage Designs was established in 1995, as my two passions, motorcycling and painting were merged together.

Having learnt my skills in a busy car bodyshop before running my own accident repair centre, I decided to focus on 2 wheels instead of 4 as my interest in motor sport had moved more from from rallying to road racing.

The business steadily grew and our relationship with Ducati first began through a local dealer, that led us on to paint BSB championship winning bikes for the legendary GSE Racing and for WSB racers such as Noriyuki Haga, in addition we created personal bikes for WSB champion Troy Bayliss, plus motor cycle enthusiasts such as Prince Harry and Gordon Ramsay.

Moving on, a chance enquiry from a new customer gave the business an introduction into a field that we had yet to get involved in - helmet painting !

A guy who we were repairing a Kawasaki ZXR 750 for presented me with a brand new helmet and asked if it could be painted to match his bike and that moment is where it began.

After spending a few years successfully painting helmets for private customers I decided I wanted to paint for racers but to do this I needed to be at the forefront of paint application in the UK, so the decision was made to go to the USA - the home of custom painting, for approx 6 weeks to train with the team at Straightedje Designs in order to further improve my skills in this field with the experts and I was also lucky enough whilst there to meet up with the legendary Troy Lee, following this I returned to the UK and soon became involved with world under 21 Speedway Champion Joe Screen and European Grass-track champion Steve Johnston.

I was able to use this platform to enter into road and short circuit racing and was soon painting helmets for iconic racers such as Carl Fogarty and Steve Hislop.

As our reputation steadily grew, we were fortunate enough to work with such sponsors as Highland Spring Mineral Water, Red Bull, Wrigley’s Airwaves, Data-tag, Blackhorse and Petronas  to name but a few.

We have painted bikes that have won BSB titles, WSB races and also bikes for the  NW200...MacauGP...IOMTT... UlsterGP winners.

Helmets we have painted have done the same and appeared on many podiums across the board, the artwork we created was used on Casey Stoners Moto GP Championship winning helmet.

Since 1995 we have built many brand partnerships with companies and regularly use products from  3M, Lechler, Palinal , Max Meyer, House of Kolor, Graphtec, Mimaki, Coreldraw, LG Hausys, MACtac , Mirka Abrasives,  Signlab, Xacto, Advantage Lacquer from PPG, JTape, Farecla  and Devilbiss Spray-guns

also a new addition for 2018 - we are now using Roland DG UK printing equipment and are proud to be awarded the  Roland Hero status

We have had a long association with Shoei UK  for over 15 years and continuing

We specialise also in custom designs for private customers, either exact replica’s of bikes or helmets or alternatively if given a theme we can create a specialist design for any bike or helmet and of course undertake any type of restoration work.

A massive database of graphic files has been compiled from our work over the last 20 years and every graphic file for every job we have ever done is safely stored in case ever required again.

All our graphics are cut and printed in our own graphics studio, so we have complete control over every task - each and every job is kept completely in house and we remain based in Cheshire  where we have been since the beginning.
